Bio

Formed in early 2012, When Pluto Was A Planet’s lineup consists of four Western MA natives. With influences ranging from Foo Fighters, Manchester Orchestra, Thrice, and Taking Back Sunday, When Pluto Was A Planet writes catchy, alternative rock songs that run the gamut from quiet, subtle verses to loud, memorable choruses. Creating a unique sound which is fond of soaring vocals, wall of sound guitars, harmonic riffs, fat bass lines, and precise drums, the quartet is set to showcase original songs for the ears of Alternative Rock enthusiasts.

When Pluto Was A Planet

"Medicine Makes Me is a callback to early millennia rock when music was loud, rambunctious and fun. With a catchy hook that easily wedges into memory and stays put, the song is completely seamless. Every member has their part to play and is given their moment to shine without feeling forced or janky. Medicine Makes Me glides through the ears with an ease that can only remind one of early Foo Fighter’s work: realized, memorable and special."

"Do You Remember is a fitting album title for a band that is called When Pluto Was A Planet as it evokes an immediate sense of warm nostalgia upon first listen. Also: Fun fact, when Pluto was a planet was in 2006. Which is exactly where this album takes me.  The album feels like one I would’ve kept in my iTunes in the early 2000s or kept in a trapper keeper in my car nestled beside Foo Fighters and Rise Against. (Yeah, throwback) The band themselves are polished and gelled, with each member knowing when to bow out gracefully to let the other shine. Do You Remember rips straight into vocals with powerful lyrics like ‘Even Gods knows that you’re a liar’ and doesn’t relent the head bangers until the final note of Medicine Makes Me. Do You Remember feels like an old friend: familiar and comforting, but as a brand new experience."
